In 1992, writer/director Mark Jones introduced a unique horror figure - an authentic legendary creature endowed with a potential for malevolence never before explored. LEPRECHAUN, a Trimark Pictures release, became a runaway international hit as audiences around the world responded to its blend of action and dark humour. In this now classic horror-thriller, the Leprechaun wreaks havoc on a small North Dakota town when one of its "lucky" inhabitants has the misfortune of capturing him.
In LEPRECHAUN 2, the first sequel in what is destined to be a new action horror series, the little monster grows in character as lust completes his personality of malevolence, greed and general bad attitude. When the ageless Leprechaun (Warwick Davis - reprising his role) gets that thousand-year itch to find nothing less than the perfect mate, he sets his sites on Bridget (Shevonne Durkin), a typical Southern California teenager whose previous worst problem was a bad hair day. The only one who stands between the maniacal Leprechaun and his unsuspecting bride-to-be are Cody (Charlie Heath), a boy with a heart of gold, and Cody´s imbibing uncle Morty (Sandy Baron), who´s been seeing little green men for years.
Cult composer Jonathan Elias, who has a credit list that includes such cult classics as THE CHILDREN OF THE CORN; VAMP with Grace Jones and Sherylinn Fenn´s TWO MOON JUNCTION; returns to his favourite genre with the horrificly macabre score for LEPRECHAUN 2.
