Don Bluth´s 1982 animated feature The Secret of N.I.M.H. has already become a classic in animation history Bluth, who´s next film was the hugely successful An American Tale feels that this earlier film may in fact be his best work. He studied and worked at Disney on such classics as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, too! and the original The Rescuers before leaving to open his own animation shop. The beautifully told film features the voices of the great John Carradine, Peter Strauss, Dom DeLuise and Elizabeth Hartman. Anyone who has enjoyed such recent animation films as Aladdin, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast should not miss treating themselves and their children to this magical and charming film.

The score for The Secret of N.I.M.H. was composed by Jerry Goldsmith and is, without question, one of the composer´s greatest and most beautiful works. Goldsmith´s soaring melodies were recorded with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of London and the famed choir, The Ambrosian Singers. Goldsmith also composed the lovely song "Flying Dreams" which features lyrics by Paul Williams who also sings the song on this disc. Truly a timeless and classic soundtrack!
