Gazette is at present one of the most popular and successful Visual Kei Bands in Japan. Gazette was founded in 2002 by Ruki ( lead singer) , Uruha (guitarrist), Aoi (guitarrist), Reita ( base guitar ) and Yune (drummer). Gazette is one of today´s absolute top acts in the Visual Kei scene. Gazette was a small band that started out in early 2002 but made it big when they released a maxi-single called Madara that was also released with a DVD that had music videos for each song. Gazette take over the stage with a lot of confidence, looking and sounding like consumate professionals . While still visual, their music manages to convey a more street-credible punk element as well that is leading them to fill bigger and bigger venues. Having a variety of great songs -- sing-alongs, headbangs, bouncers -- doesn't hurt either. More than ever they are becoming the next of the biggest J-Rock bands. The Band's single "Cassis" is so popular in Japan that it is used as the opening melody to one of Japan´s most well-known television shows.
