George Lucas, creator of the phenomenally successful Star Wars saga, as well as the Indiana Jones Trilogy and American Graffiti, now enters your living room with the most entertaining history lesson of your life! Lucas, together with the ABC Television Network, present The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
The twelve years from 1908 to 1920 that are the subject of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles encompass a fascinating era in politics, art, music and science. The series alternates between episodes where Indy is a ten year old who is accompanying his father on a lecture tour around the world, and a seventeen-year-old Indy who has joined the Belgian army. During his travels Indy is introduced to the wonders of Egypt by T.E. Lawrence, goes crime solving with Elliot Ness and Ernest Hemmingway, and loses his virginity to the infamous Mata Hari, plus along the way meets everyone from Norman Rockwell to Theodore Roosevelt, from George Gershwin to Pablo Picasso, from Puccini to Albert Sdchweitzer.
George Lucas has always made great use of music in his film productions. He has treated this television project no differently and has seen to it that each episode contains an exceptional musical score and enough music for a full feature film!
This third soundtrack recording from the series continues Varese Sarabande's dedication to the great music from this television event. Composers Laurence Rosenthal and Joel McNeely are again back but with the help of a few friends this time. This disc contains music from the following three episodes and is over 75 minutes long. Includes: Rhapsody in Blue, Swanee, Somebody Loves Me, Sounds Like Perfection, Scandal Walk, Sweetie Dear, My Handyman, 12th Street Rag, Blue Horizon, Tiger Rag, I Can't Believe You're in Love with Me and Twinkle Dixie and features incredible Broadway, jazz and blues music from the two highest-rated episodes of the series.
