Gent / Berlin 10. August 2010 - Die World Soundtrack Academy hat die Nominierungen für die World Soundtrack Awards 2010 in drei Kategorien bekannt gegeben:

-    Film Composer of the Year

-    Best Original Score of the Year

-    Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film
 
Die Preisverleihung findet am 23. Oktober anlässlich des Gala-Konzerts zum zehnjährigen Bestehen der World Soundtrack Awards statt. Mit der Geburtstagsgala, bei der namhafte Filmmusikkomponisten aus aller Welt anwesend sein werden, endet das 37. Ghent International Film Festival.

Nach der Preisverleihung findet ein Konzert mit elf Filmmusikkomponisten von Weltrang statt. Dabei sind: der Oscar-Preisträger Howard Shore (Lord Of The Rings trilogy), Elliot Goldenthal (Frida, Interview With A Vampire), Gabriel Yared (The English Patient), Gustavo Santaolalla (Babel, Brokeback Mountain), Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare In Love) sowie Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks), Craig Armstrong (Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Ray), Alberto Iglesias (The Kite Runner, Volver), Bruno Coulais (The Chorus), Frédéric Devreese (Un Soir, Un Train) und der brillante junge Komponist Nico Muhly (The Reader).
